Following the recent death of an aunt of mine we discovered what we thought initially was a family bible but in fact was a large volume of Pilgrim's Progress published in the 1860s. the interesting part is that it expands on some family date as these are handwritten at the beginning of the book as follows:
John Finlay(my ggf) born 23rd April 1853, married 6 May 1879; Elizabeth Finlay, his wife and my ggm (nee McLune) born January 1st 1860. I have a couple of photos of her taken in the late 1920s early 30s; Margaret Ann Finlay born 15th July 1981; Agnes Finlay born 15 July 1881; Agnes Finlay born 14 August 1883; Robert Finlay born 28 March 1886; Elizabeth Jane Finlay born 11 November 1889; Mary Finlay born June 23 1892.
Margaret Finlay went on to marry John Mason on August 12 1904. They had a son John F Mason born in September 1910.
I have family photographs of some of the above Finlays dating back to the late 1890s and early 1900s.
