Tom: Ihave just returned from Ireland, and was able to do some searching for Finlays . I found graves of William Finlays in the town of Cavan, and in Ballyconnell, graves of Thomas, Margaret, and near Bauwnboy, George, David, Emilia, John. there were numerous finlay families in the general area, including border areas in Leitrim I did not visit . However, it seems the name was very common before 1800. What is the name on the tombstone you refer to?
