Wood to Gilbert
This indenture made this the 9th day of April in the year 1849 between Thomas Woods of the county of Marshall and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and Joel Gilbert of the county and the Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Wood for and in consideration of three Hundred and thirty Dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said Joel Gilbert his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the county of Marshall on the waters of middle fork of Clarks and bounded as follows to wit known as the north west quarter of Section thirteen Township four Range three East containing one hundred and Sixty acres be the same more or less together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining. To have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with the appurtenances unto the said Joel Gilbert his heirs and assigns forever and the said Thomas Woods for himself his heirs Executors and administrators the aforesaid tract of land and appurtenances unto the said Joel Gilbert his heirs or assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever doth and will forever warrant and defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said Thomas Woods together with Frances Woods his wife who hereby Relinquishes her right of dower in and to the lands conveyed in this deed hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day and date above written. I, Henry Hand, clerk of the County Court in and for said county, do certify that on the 2nd day of October (Inst.) this deed of conveyance from Thomas Wood to Joel Gilbert was produced to me within my county and proven by the oaths of Lewis and W.N. Finley the two subscribing Witnesses thereto to be the act and deed of said Wood for the purposes therein specified. In testimony of which and that said deed and this certificate have been and now stand truly recorded in my office, I hereto set my hand the 5th day of October A.D. 1849. Henry Hand, C.M.C.C.
