Carol-nice to finally hear from someone searching the same family. I have lots of info on Mohr's and Fischers. My stumbling block is Jacob Mohr, b. 11 Sept 1833 or 1835. Immigrated to US-don't know when. Married Susan Kuszmaul (1838-1915) in Ohio 4 Sept 1855. They had 8 children: George, Katherine,Mary,Amanda,Carrie,Hattie,Charles&Wm.George 1856- 1933 first mrd Eliz Mary Lellyemburg 1858-1940-then married Caroline Happenau(1860-1914) and had Gertrude, Laura, Mildred,Frank,Edward J.,George,Anna.
Edward J(my grandfather) 1887-1965, mrd Lydia Fischer (1888- 1962)& they had Olive M., Edward D. Allen F. (my father), Marjorie L. & Jacqueline E. I have the whole history and many pictures of the hardware store. Lydia Fischer Mohr died in 1962-not 1935. My Fischer problem lies with Heinrich. I have a marriage certificate here in Peoria County IL showing him marrying Tryntje (Talletta) Willts (not Harbers) though my aunt Jacqueline has always said it was Talletta Harbers but marriage certificate shows a Heye Fischer marrying Tryntje Willts 8 Mar 1850. Let me know when you are coming to Peo and I will show you lots! my email is firstname.lastname@example.org. There is a giant monument in cemetery for Goodhart & Fischer but even that leaves mysteries. I need to know a little more about the Fischers in St. Louis.Do you know when Heinrich was born, immigrated, etc.?
