Hello Pamela;
This is like hunting for a 'needle in a haystack', isn't it!
According to the Indiana census, my Jacob Fisher was born around 1802 somewhere in Kentucky.But, because of the knowledge of the German language among his children,(who were not formally educated)there is a possiblity that his parents migrated from the eastern part of the U.S. after coming to the states. Just a guess. But, I do know that Jacob's wife's people were not of Germanic origin.
Maybe we can find some early Fisher/Fischer branch in Connecticut who became pioneers and headed toward Kentucky around 1800.
As I mentioned earlier, my line were known as the 'Red Deutsch" because of their ruddy complexions that seemed to carry down for several generations.Jacob's kids were that complexion, including my great-grandfather, Elijah. He married a woman who had dark hair and eyes, but all of their children, including my grandmother, had red hair of various shades.
