Catherine,
I'm sorry I haven't gotten back with you sooner.I'm afraid I am a fickle genealogist.I research & research until I develop burn-out and have to put it aside awhile.
Thank you so much for the information you sent me.It never crossed my mind that Sa-hoyah could be Sartakah.I did think of Charlotte Hogner's Indian name as being another way of saying it and that maybe she was named after her, though. You have inspired me to get out my records and go over them again.Maybe I can piece something together with what you sent me and what I have.I have a Very curious record regarding the deaths of my great-grandfather, John R. Ross and a John Chickaleelee. They had some common land together, as I remember, in Bunch and Stilwell. They also died on the same day which seems very odd to me since I heard John R. Ross died of pneumonia???It almost made me wonder if they were the same person. When I go through my things I'll get back with you and will copy the info for you.My mother just had surgery and I've been busy with her.
I will tell you from what you sent me that Nick Byers was married to my great-great aunt, Ellen Miller. and Rufus Miller, married to the Duck woman, was her brother.John R. Ross' wife, my great grandmother was their sister, Lucinda Miller.
Judy
