The timing and story of this family split sounds familiar to me. My dad, John Joseph (Jack) Fishwick (1920-1993) was a son of John Joseph Fishwick who married Ann Davock, a devout catholic. My dad told me many years ago that this caused some upset as the Fishwicks were orange men. My dad was from Elliot St (off Knowsley Rd). My grandparents are buried in St Helens cemetary with My GG-father (Davock).
