The subject Whitehaven to Shipley was a general title covering the Fishwick line I am
looking for.Jean Fishwick b1926 in Shipley, West Yorkshire , her father was William Fishwick b 1901 in Newcastle, his father was James Fishwick, not sure about when he was born I would guess around 1875/1880 , who worked in the shipyards on the Tyne he would have been born , I beleive ,in the Cumberland area around Carlise , I believe that James Fishwick was born in the Cumberland area because he had a brother , William, who lived at Waverton Hall , Carlise.James Fishwick married a Jane Ann Allison of Whitehaven and moved to Newcastle to find work. The William Fishwick of Waverton Hall dealt in stocks and shares and was what we would call a man of independent means , he died about 1942/3.James and William Fishwick had three sisters Mary Jane Fishwick, Annie Fishwick and the third sister who's first name I do not know but she married a Hughes.Mary Jane and Annie Fishwick never married, Annie was a matron at Guys Hospital in London.I will post more info as I get it.
