Frederick Clifton Pierce compiled the Fisk/Fiske Gen. about 1896 and the Field Gen. about 1902. From the picture in the Fisk book he was probably in his 50's or 60's at the time. Likely he was a desc. of both familites. Don't know of any web site that may have info. Just tried roots-web again, still not avilable.
Note about old family genalogies oub. between 1850 and 1920 (take everything with a few grains of salt). Many compilers dressed up the ancestry to give the paying customers something for their money ( they usually have prior commitments to purchase 1 or more books to offset the cost of gathering and publishing). Have been into genealogy since appx. age 25. many moons ago
