Ok, one question at a time.

First, my sources are predominently FC Pierce's "Fisk and Fiske Families" pub 1896. Some of it is questionable but it is on a case by case basis so I have everything he published and I correct it when I have proof that something is not right. My second greatest source is Jack Owen Jevons "Descendants of Richard Fiske of Laxfield" pub 1987.
I found this to be much better researched and his sources are very well documented, I used it for everything before 1700.
I also use Census and other people's trees but usually only when they provide their sources.

I also use Familytree Maker, what version do you have? I have version 10.

Fisk appears to actually have been Fisc (apparently there was a Daniel Fisc at the time of the Battle of Hastings which I believe was 1066) then Ffisc - Ffiske - Fiske - Fisk.
Some people claim that many people dropped the last e to separate themselves from the rich Fiskes and others say that the less educated Fiske farming families dropped it due to that lack of education. I have never seen a record of a Fisk that came to America before the Revolutionary war who did not have the final e when they arrived. It started disappearing after the Revolutionary war, possibly to distance themselves from their "torrey" relatives who kept the e. Who knows for sure? My family never dropped the e but they had money at least up until the depression.

Here's what I have for the sons, nothing on Leonard but here's Harry William Fiske. Any of this look familiar?

Good luck,
Bob Birt
