Mahlon James Fisk from Indiana or Missouri

I am new to geneology. I am looking for ancestors of my grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Fisk, dob 8/1/1889 in Little Rock, Arkansas. His father's name was Mahlon James Fisk. Mahlon was reportedly born in Indiana. I think the year was 1859. Thomas Jefferson Fisk moved to Poplar Bluff, MO when he was three days old and lived ther until he died on 2/8/73. Any info on these Fisks or how to pursue Fisk family research would be greatly appreciated.
