William Fisk, Mansfield Center, CT: 1850-1860?

The original owner/builder of our home is listed in Mansfield archives as William Fisk. The home is "thought" to be built around 1850-1860.

Does anyone have specific information with regard to William Fisk of Mansfield, CT? Mansfield was once a part of Windham, CT and is also only 1/2 mile from the Ashford border.

We know William Fisk provided financing to the first silk mill in CT via the Willimantic Chronicle archives. We "think" his son led wagon trains West after the Civil War.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Bryan
