I do not think we are related. Our Fitterers were from Moersch, Baden, Germany. They spelled their name Fitterer in Baden and also when they immigrated from Baden to America in 1830. Several years after the Philip Fitterer family arrived in Indiana, the 2 youngest sons of 13 children dropped the final er and only their descendants are known by Fitter. The rest of us are known by Fitterer.
However, it is possible that someone from an earlier generation immigrated from Baden to England in the 1700s and changed the name to Fitter in England. If your ancestors originated in Moersch or near Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany then we may be related.
