MILDRED LYNN ELLIS FITZ, 87, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002 in Huntsville, TX. Born July 21, 1914. Service Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. at 1st Presbyterian Church of Huntsville. Burial at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, Sardis Cemetery in Jewitt, TX. Graduate of San Jacinto High School as well as graduate from Rice University. Volunteer with visitor center at Sam Houston Statue. Member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Huntsville; former member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Houston where she was an active member of the Walker Healy Class. Longtime volunteer with the Huntsville Memorial Hospital also active with the Dance Group "Seniors in Motion". Survivors: daughter Mary Jenell Fitz Hyatt and husband Richard; sons, Robert Allen Fitz and wife Marion, and Donald Ellis Fitz and wife Barbara; granddaughters, Mira and Cathy Aborn, Rebecca and Brittany Fitz; grandsons, Allen Aborn and Mark Fitz. Preceded in death by husband, Dilmas Vernon Fitz and sisters Cecil, Adeline and Ruba Jean. Visitation Wednesday, 5-7 PM at the Huntsville Funeral Home. Servicves under the direction of: HUNTSVILLE FUNERAL HOME, 1215 15th Street, Huntsville, TX 77340, (936) 295-6363.
