Fitz/Fitts DNA Project

We have just started the Fitts DNA (“Fitts Family” DNA Finger Print ) project with Family Tree, it also workkable for the Fitz Family for it is believe these two families may have the same roots. All you will need to do is to swab your cheeks. The Fitts DNA site will help to tell us if we have a common links. There is a cost to do the DNA test and that is $99 for the 12 point marker test, the cost has been discounted for this project from $149.

It would be nice to get as many Fitts Family members to join the project as we can. This will help in determining our family connections. At this time we are only using the Male members with surname Fitts because they have the Y-chromosome needed to trace the family. It is hoped that we might be able to extend this to the female members of the family once we get our feet firmly planted.

If you are interested contact me by clicking on my name on this posting where it says “Posted By” to get my email address and email me your questions. I will send you all the information on where to go to get started. Again to let you know the DNA Kit does have a cost and this is to pay for the test. The information I will send you will tell you where to go so you will be able to read about the DNA project and how it works. I will try to answer questions if I can. If you are not comfortable with doing this test that is OK, but if you would like to know if we find family connections I will try to let you know. Hope you join us, this may clear up many questions.
