Sally, I am also doing some research since my greatgrandfather was from Maine. It appears we are interested in the same branch of the family. This is what Annie Carlile gave me and I think this has to be them. My greatgrandfather was Henry D. Fitz son of Henry E. Fitz and they lived in Deering. Here it is what I was given, I hope you find it interesting:
