TWO DEAD HERE IN AUTO CRASHES

Charles David Loe, 9, Dayton Pike and Clarence William Scott, Jr., 32, of 425 N. High St., were dead following automobile accidents this past week. Charles died as a result of a serious brain concussion received when the car driven by his father, Edwin Loe, collided head on with another auto during a heavy rainstorm late Monday afternoon a half-mile southeast of Fairborn on state route 235. Charles was taken to Greene Memorial Hospital, Xenia, where he died at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday. Also killed in the mishap was Joseph Warren, Fairborn, 11-year-old brother of John Warren, 16, driver of the other car. Joseph was dead on arrival at the Xenia hospital.

Mr. Loe and two passengers in the Warren car, Mrs. Claire E. Warren, mother of the dead Fairborn boy, and Vickie Hollingshead, were treated for injuries and then released.

Charles the son of Edwin and Katherine Fitz Loe, was born Dec.16, 1946 in Columbus. He would have been a fourth grade student in the elementary school this fall. He was a member of the Pirates team in the Little League and Cub Scouts Den 8, and attended the Methodist Church Sunday School.

He is survived by, besides his parents, a sister, Emilie; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. David Fitz, 131 E. Davis St.; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Loe, Dayton Pike.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 this morning in the Coffman Funeral Home by Rev. John Armentrout, pastor of the Methodist Church, and Dr. Buckley Rude, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Interment was at the Glen Forest Cemetery.

Services Held

Services for Charles David Loe, 9, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Loe, Dayton Pk., who was injured fatally in an automobile accident near Fairborn Monday afternoon, were held at Coffman Funeral Home Thursday morning. Rev. John Armentrout, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated assisted by Dr. Buckley D. Rude of the Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Glen Forest Cemetery.

Besides his Parents the boy is survived by his sister, Emilie; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. David Fitz, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Loe.
