I have a birthdate of 1530 for Christopher the Younger (the one who married Ann Wood). I have his birthplace as Hucknall, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. However, the actual village and the ancestral home is fairly close to the border between Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, so it is possible that the borders were drawn differently back then. My info comes from Oris F. Randolph's book. I don't have any info about a missing generation. As far as I can tell, Christopher's father was also named Christopher. A 1530 birthdate would put Christopher the Elder at about 35 when his son was born. And Christopher the Younger was (at least) the 4th child. Hope this helps.
