Charles,

I noticed you post regarding Martha Fitz who married John Vail. If you are referring to John Vail, Quaker Preacher, Martha's line of descent is as follows:
Martha, John, Nathaniel, Edward (the immigrant).

John and Martha had 11 Children. There is a fair amount of material given in a book by William Penn Vail. Google Thomas Vail Family, or, William Penn Vail, and you should be able to find it (possibly on Ancestry.com, Advanced book search, or archive.org). I have been researching Martha and have concluded the book I cited is accurate. On a 15 point comparison against independent authorities, and a personal review of the Alfred Vail Manuscripts, Vail's account of at least John and Martha's history is correct.
