Martha,
If Kathleen (Osborne) Delaney's "Osborne's" go back to Fairfield, Connecticut or New York to Richard Osborn, then she may be a distant cousin. Richard Osborn is my ancestor...he imported to US about 1634/35.
From what I understand, Patrick and Elizabeth (Failor) Fitzsimmons named their first son Joseph. That "could" indicate that Patrick's father was Joseph. However, I looked in the 1830 Cumberland Co. census index and found no Joseph. Actually, I found no Fitzsimmons' at all in the 1830 index, not under any variation that I tried. And I looked through all the "F's" in the index. So hmmmm.
If I had to make a guess, I'd say that James Fitzsimmons on the 1800 and 1810 Franklin Co. census is the best bet as Patrick's father. And maybe James was a nephew to "my" Patrick. Or maybe even a brother, I just don't know as there just isn't enough info yet. Hopefully, one day we'll figure this all out.
Dave
