Obituary found in the Panama City News Herald, Panama City, Bay Co., FL Date: 5 Dec 1980
CLARENCE WOODARD SASSARD
Mr. Clarence Woodard Sassard, 80, of Panama City, died in a local hospital Wednesday. A resident of Bay County for 28 years coming from Citrus County Florida. He was a retired Florida Highway Patrol Officer and the First Chief of Police of West Panama City Beach, a veteran of World War II, and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Katie Sassard of Panama City; one sister, Mrs. Edna Etheridge of Anderson, S. C.; two brothers, Mr. Claude Sassard of Baltimore, Md. and Rev. Ralph Sassard of Newry, S. C. Services will be held Saturday at the Strickland Funeral Home in Crystal River, Fla. at 2 pm with the Rev. Dan Forbes officiating. Interment will follow at the Red Level Cemetery in Crystal River, Florida.
