John is listed in the franklin cty. federal census of 1850 right before David Raney. the Raney house in Apalachicola is a historic museum, built in 1838 by mr. raney.
mr ruan may very well have lived nextdoor.
anyone know about the properties next to the raney house on market st.?
can someone recommend a good historical account on Apalachicola? john ruan was a mmerchant as was mr. raney.
there is a james ruan listed in the voters for franklin cty. in 1845. he must have owned land there. where can i find more on early franklin county history?
