Segree Family's Sicilian Roots

I am the granddaughter of Vera Segree Ferree and the great grandaughter of Joseph Barmore Segree and Nellie Tucker Segree, descendants of Joseph/Giuseppe and Mary/Maria Segree who settled in Franklin County in about 1859.

The family history I'm currently updating tells me nothing of *where* in Sicily the Segrees lived. I do know that the name "Segree" was originally "Sicari" and also appears as "Sigari" and "Segari" in records. I also know that they were from the Palermo region of Sicily, but that could be one of a hundred towns.

I would give anything to know what ship they traveled on from Italy and where in Sicily they lived.

Any ideas about how/where I can dig for information about the Sicilian town?

Thanks!

Lea Pritchett
