I am looking for the FATHER of a man named Gideon G. Harris, who was born around 1808 in Warren Co. GA. His family was the first of the Harrises to migrate from Warren County, Georgia to Bonifay, Holmes County, FL. He married a woman named Mary Aldridge on 11/4/1828 in Warren County. She was born around 1815. They had seven children as far as I know: (1) Jasper N. Harris, b. around 1830, who served in the 6th FL Inf. Co. “I” during the Civil War; (2) Columbus H. Harris, b. 6/11/1835 in Warren County, who also served in that Company; (3) V___ Harris (I could not read the name on the census records of 1860, but he was male); (4) Henry P. Harris, b. 1840; (5) James K. Harris, b. 1843; (6) Hershel P. Harris, b. 1848; and (7) Winfield Harris, b. 1850. All these kids were born in Warren Co., GA. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know if Georgia marriage records of the early 1800’s include the names of the mother and father of the groom?
