Looking for information on the John Sammons b. 1802 in SC who is found in the 1850 Holmes Co FL Census (HN #38). With him are his wife Elizabeth and children Eli, Caroline, Mary, and Luanzy.

Family oral history states that John and Eli worked cutting timber during construction of the railroad network throughout Florida. The womenfolk were noted for baking pies which they sold to the railroad crews out of the back of a wagon alongside the track.
