1918 Flu Epidemic

Tom Young (husband of Rosa Chance) was my husband's granduncle. Tom died October 19, 1918 in the Flu epidemic. Can anybody tell me how much that flu epidemic affected Holmes County - especially Bonifay?

Tom's death certificate was not filled out (by Dr. Mashburn) until three months later and I wonder if there were so many Flu deaths occurring that the doctor couldn't catch up with the paper work until much later. Apparently the doctor didn't consult with the family about the death certificate because he got birth places wrong for both Tom and his father, Alexander Young, and he didn't know the name of Tom's mother, Sarah Wilkey Young.
