There was a good bit more about Amanda Lucille Burke in Billy's records that I did not find at first. Just interested in knowing your relationship to the Burkes. My Wife is a Burke descendent. 84. AMANDA LUCILLE STORY Amanda Lucille Story, 85, of Panama City, Fla., died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Altha, Fla., and was a lifetime resident of Florida. She was a member of St. Andrews Methodist Church. Amanda was a welder at the Wainwright Shipyard, worked in sales at J.C. Penney for many years, and for Bay County District Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert, two months ago after being married 63 years. Mrs. Story is survived by her son, Paul Edward Story and his wife Paula, of Hawkinsville; two grandchildren, Dodie Eason and Amanda Lynn Story; two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 13, 10 a.m. at Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel, 100 E. 19th St., with Chaplain Floyd Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was a machinist at International Paper mill for approximately 30 years prior to his retirement.
