The death certificate for Morgan Huff shows he died 28 April 1918 at 7:30 a.m. in Astatula, shot and "killed by officer in discharge of his duty." The coroner's inquest was held the same day, and the coroner, E. M. Tally [?], was in Tavares. The certificate indicates that Huff was to be buried in Astatula, but undertaker, [H. W. Cowle?] was in Eustis. The informant was T. C. Smyth of Tavares.
The only online cemetery transcription for Astatula doesn't show a stone or marker for Huff in the Astatula Cemetery. Does anyone know of another cemetery in which he might have been buried?
Did Astatula have a newspaper in 1918 that might have reported the death and the circumstances surrounding it?
I would be most grateful for any information.
