Hello Kevin! Thank you so much for your
help. I just saw your post (been on vacation).
I will get back with you when I get my notes
in order again, but here is what I have on
William H. and Mary Simms' and their children.
William H. Simms born about 1860 Jackson,Fla.
Married Mary A. Glisson 31 Mar 1879 in Marrianna,
Jackson, Fla. Died ??
Mary A. Simms born May ? 1863
Amanda Simms born December 1886
James Simms born Jan. 1888
Henry Simms born July 1889
William Simms born Aug. 1893
William (son) married Annie Broom 28 Dec. 1912
Henry (son) married Mamie Crutchfield 02 Sept.1907
James (son/ my great-grandfather) married
Hattie Beckwith 18 Aug 1911.
As for the Glissons. I know that Mary Ann's (wife
of William H. Simms) father was Joseph W. Glisson
and he was born in 1835, Early County, Ga.
I'm sure I have more information on the Glisson
family, and once I've unpacked I'll look through
my records again.
Thank you so much for your help. I'm anxious to
get started with what you have sent me to see if I
can trace the Simms family back to their origins.
I have a feeling I'm going to land up in Ireland
as it seems most of my family came from Ireland and
married Native Americans once they arrived in the
U.S. This is so exciting!!
