My grand mother, Kathrine L Magoon (McGoon) (b.1875-1876 d. 1964) was born in Mt. Sterling Illinois (I think). Married Lewis Nowlan, who was born in Mountpelier Vermont, March 31, 1850, on April 28, 1903 in Brown County Illinois. Two sons Lewis (b.1906) and Robert (b.1910) Nowlan.
Her father William R. Magoon (McGoon) (b. ??? in Mass.) and her mother Catherine E. Donahue (b. 1842 in Canada) They were married in Canada. Immigrated circa 1868. Other daughters were Georgia Anne (b.1865 in Canada) and Mary Eleanor (b.1870). Two sons William (b.1872) and John A. (b.1867 in Canada) Catherine E.is buried at Mt. Sterling Illinois Catholic Cemetery.
I would love to know where they are from in Canada and where William originated from in Mass.
John A. had a son , John Leon Magoon (McGoon) who died in Orlando Florida October 25, 1979. John Leon had a son, James Magoon (McGoon) who died in Texan March 03, 1995.
