Polk County has a wonderful genealogical library located in the old courthouse in Bartow, Florida, in case you are interested. They have microfilm of the newspapers for the cities located in Polk County. Lakeland library also has a genealogy section - not much - but it is only open 8-5 Monday through Friday. Polk County History Center is open during the week and also on Saturday.
