I am doing research on the Whidden or Whiddons. My great grandfather
was James A Whiddon and had settled in
Polk County around what is now Bartow Ft. Meade and
Lake Wales. His wife was Amanda Roberts
possible last name. He was born abt. 04-11-1845
in Georgia or S. Carolina. he had six children, Henry Jackson b. 1873 (my great grand father),
Noah, James Pearson, Amanda, Amy, and Beulah. My grand mother was a Collier
and was the daughter of Henry Jackson Whidden. I have info. on the whiddens from Polk Co.
and that they all came from Georgia.
