Punta Rassa (Rasa) Early Settlers and Settlement

I am seeking a Bibliographical listing (or suggestions)for the early settlements and settlers in the general area of Punta Rassa (present day Lee Co). Especially interested in those references to cattle handling (both the legal and illegal parts). I have read one historical fiction book, A Land Remember by Patrick Smith, but the author does not list any sources or suggestions for additional reading. Believe some of my ancestors (unknown surnames) came from GA to Punta Rassa area early 1800s. Any recommendations for further reading would be appreciated.
