Heritage Book of Okaloosa County Is Out

The Heritage Book of Okaloosa County is now in distribution and is receiving high praise. It has almost 600 family stories, numerous vintage photos, and a top-notch topical section.

Not only are we proud of the book, but we are also proud of the direction of any profits made. It's worth mentioning that books purchased IN-COUNTY directly from a committee member allows the profits to be split between the three heritage museums within the county, Baker Block Museum, the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida (Valparaiso), and the Carver-Hill Memorial and Historical Museum. To purchase books through from the committee, phone 850-682-4575 or 850-537-9441, or email nagel2000@cox.net.

If the museums are more convenient, books are available for $63.60 at the Baker Block Museum and the (Valparaiso) Heritage Museum.

Just last week a previously unknown "kin" contacted me, a direct result of finding my name and our ancestor's story in the heritage book. Through the Coffee County AL heritage book, we discovered our Civil War grandpa had two more children! And those are just the stories I'm aware of! Makes $63.60 seems like a bargain!
