JAMES HONOUR ST.CLAIR married "Lillie" - he was born 08 Dec 1871 Marion, SC. died 11 Apr 1949 New Port Richey,Pasco Florida - lived & taught school in Georgia & then taught in Florida. from the 1942 yearbook - The following article was written by Mark St. Clair and appears in West Pasco's Heritage. James Honour St. Clair was truly a pioneer of Pasco County and, especially, of West Pasco. He was born in Marion, South Carolina, on December 8, 1871. He attended the University of Georgia and began his teaching career in that state at the early age of seventeen as an assistant to his father who was also a teacher. He and his family moved to Florida from Georgia in 1919 and he began teaching in Pasco County. He taught one year at Oak Hill near Dade City and two years at Pasco High School before moving to Elfers, Florida, in 1921. He served first as principal of Elfers Junior High School, and then taught at Gulf High School from 1923 until his retirement in 1941. St. Clair was a teacher for fifty-three years, twenty-one of which he devoted to students in West Pasco. His children were - Kate St.Clair - b. 1904 Mark St.Clair - b. 1906 Mary Lou St.Clair b. 1908 I believe Mark married Helen Jackson Swartsel New Port Richey, Florida Mary Lou married Mr. Knight Would appreciate any information on this family Much Thanks, Samantha Notify Administrator about this message?
