There are 2 or 3 Henry Mercers in Washington County in that time period. Do you have any additional info on Henry?
His siblings? His wife and children? som names and dates would help identifty Henry's parents.
I also found Henry J. Mercer in Jackson County, Dellwood, in the 1930 census age 67, with his occupation shown as a farmer. His wife is Mallissie A., age 58. They have been married about 36-37 years. He is also there in 1920. In 1910, he is in Houston County, AL.
There is a story of the Mercer family in the Washington County Heritage book that may be related to your Henry J.
