You are posting to the right forum but you will need a lot more information before anyone can really help you. Work your way backwards using the US census reports. I also suggest you start looking at obits and cemetery records for your parents, grandparents and great grandparents. Check Griffiths valuation for Flahavans in Dublin as well as County Kerry and county Waterford. It will take a lot of work on your part. You can also check out Rootsweb. they may have some useful information. One last thing, do not rely on the spelling to be the same as it it now. It could just as easily be flahaven. Be sure to check that site as well. Don't forget naturalization records either.
