Sometime around 1850, James Flahavan and his wife Anne Scanlon Flahavan arrived in Ohio, probably in Delaware county. He may have been a brother to Denis Flahavan. I think they came from county Kerry because I am sure that her mother Anne was living in Kerry near Aghanagran in County Kerry, Ireland. They left their son Robert behind with his grandmother, Anne's mother. (Anne's sister was Ellen Scanlon Shanahan, my great great grandmother.) I have 2 letters from that period,1853,from their mother Anne, blaming them for not meeting the boat carrying her grandson. evidently he never showed up at his parent's home. Does this story ring any bells for anyone out there? If so please post your information. Jim Roslund (jroslund@usa.net)
