Heidi,

I have some Flahavans in St. Mary's Church in Dungarvan, perhaps slightly earlier than yours, and I am wondering if there is any connection. The family is Declan Flahavan and wife Brigid Gleeson. Their children were Catherine, born 1833, Margaret born 1835, John born 1837, Brigid, born 1839, and Patrick born 1842. In most cases, one of the sponsors was a Johanna Qually, and various Gleesons, so I am thinking that the Flahavans might have been from a neighboring parish originally?

The family emigrated to the U.S. (Wisconsin) probably in the early 1850's.

If you think there is any connection, I would be happy to hear of it.
