Thanks for the welcome information on the various John and Catharine Flahives around the Dingle Peninsula.
There is one other set of John and Catherines. There were Flahives in Ballybunion as early as 1836. That is not on the Dingle Peninsula, but it is still Kerry Co. I don't know for sure mine came from the peninsula. Also a John and Catherine Flahive witnessed a baptism (they were sponsors) at the Catholic Church in Ballybunion 20 June 1868. The parents were from Doon near Ballybunion. Ellen Gallivan was the child and mother and father were Catherine Falvey and John Gallivan. But I can't find anything else on them in the records. Shouldn't be your John and Catherine as it is quite far from Annuscaul. As best as I can determine, my Ellen was born ca. 1848 and her brother Maurice 1853. So those dates fit rather well with the Castlegory John and Catherine's other children. But why are my Ellen and Maurice not in the church records?
Hope all is going well,
