It has been some time since we have communicated. Recently I found a marriage record in 1877 for Maurice Flahive in Dingle. I had hunted all over Ireland for one but this is the only one having a logical date. So this leads me back to John Flahive who was in the Griffiths living at townland "the Wood" in Dingle. His lessor was the Earl of Cork. The Wood still exists and is the home for a number of vacation cottages. John's son apparently was the next lessee and one can find records of this in the Earl's records available on the web. He and his family were in the 1901 census of the Wood (House no. 1). They had about six out buildings. In 1909, he was on a list of inhabitants of the Wood and they had Esq. by his name. His sister Catherine had the same name as my mother's grandmother's mother. The Catherine name also was used in the next Flahive generation. Some of the Dingle residents should be able to help on this. There is a James Flahive Pub in Dingle. Hope that you have been doing well lately.
