Samuel and Thomas Flake of Kershaw SC

Seeking information on Thomas and Elizabeth Flake on the 1800 and 1810 Kershaw SC census. He died in 1820 in Limestone AL but his will was probated in Kershaw. Samuel Flake JR was a brother of Thomas. His wife was named Sarah and they appeared on the 1810 Kershaw census. Have not been able to trace any of his children except daughter Sarah who married Leroy Jones. Samuel Flake died intestate in 1815 in Kershaw SC. Both Samuel and Thomas were sons of Samuel Flake SR of Anson NC. Other sons of Samuel Flake SR include William (rev war vet, died 1833 in Warren Co GA), Elijah (d bef 1840 in Henderson TN, and Jordan (d Anson NC 1843). Would love to hear from any Samuel Flake SR researchers, particularly descendents of the Kershaw SC Flakes. Email me at
