Have not been able to establish sure connection of Samuel to Robert Flake(Isle of Wight. Have Samuels will and land transactions. He was a Regulator of the Battle of Alamance 1771. Captured by British and signed Oath of loyalty to preserve life.
Remained out of the Rev. War (Brother and Son fought with Colonists) and labeled as Tory. Very interesting history that is not commonly taught in schools today. One account has him and a brother coming to New York then to S. C. in 1720, then on to N.C.
