Hi Jewel, I know that you and I are researching the same lines. I am somewhat confused though. Was Elizabeth married three times? I know that Elizabeth Whitehead was married to Peter Flake and they had four children as far as I can determine, one of them being William. William served in the Confederacy with his half brother or step brother, Samuel Eaves, I believe. Anyway when Peter died Elizabeth married James Eaves after his wife, Hannah Hyde Eaves died. Is this a different Peter, Elizabeth, and William? My mother always called the Flakes children cousins because James Eaves daughter, Hester, was her grandmother and she grew up with the Flakes. I also wanted to let you know that I got information on James Ashmore and more especially I got his wife, Rebecca's info. I would e-mail you, but I ddidn't know whether you ever got over the scare about the virus. Rebecca was a Brasher. Her father was Thomas Brasher, III, but they spelled Rebecca's name Brashear. Thomas Brasher, III was married to a Naomia, but it was spelled Neomah. His father was Thomas II and Grandfather was Thomas whose father was William born in 1674. I found the information in a Brasher Family book by Charles Brasher in the York Co., SC Library in Rock Hill. James father was William. William was the son of Walter and I found this info in the Andreas file. Let me know about Peter and Elizabeth.
