Hi,

I might have a bit more information on this side of Samuel Flake's family. I am a direct descendant of his through his daughter Mary and John Smith. I found your posting to be most helpful! There is a bit more information in _The_Smith_Book_, a copy which is in my mother's possession. I'll get you the ISBN if you don't have the book I'm going over to mom's tomorrow to fill in holes in my database from her DAR lineage documentation. I'd be happy to share with you. I'm putting together an online database of our relatives back to Samuel Flake on my mother's side and John Glenn (Londonderry, IR to NC, 1700's) on my dad's.

The Smith Book claims Scotland as Samuel Flake's place of birth, but the Sullivan Family website (http://pages.prodigy.net/dan_sullivan/main/) lists England. I'm supposing that he came THROUGH England, eventually to settle in Anson County. Any verification of any claim would be appreciated.

Best regards,
Bill
