It is probably obvious to most, but to clear up in confusion, I made a "typo" in my previous message back in 2004, typing that Hardy Hooker was born in "1858" and died in "1840." Clearly, since there is no evidence of Hardy possessing a time machine, if he died in 1840 he could not have very well been born in "1858," 18 years later! <grin> It should correctly read born in ca. 1758. The date of birth is based on subtracting the age, 81 years, 8 months, as given on his tombstone from the date of death, 23 January 1840, as given on the tombstone.
