Jodi,
My Name is William H. Flake II. I am Michaels first cousin. I read your post in response to Michael's Web site. I wanted to clarify some information for you, in that the Founder of Snowflake, AZ was in fact William Jordan Flake, who was the son of James Madison Flake. Michael and I are direct decendents of Elijah Wilson Flake, who was a first cousin to William Jordan. Elijah's father (William Cameron Flake) and William Jordan's father (James Madision) were half brothers. James Madison left Anson County and wound up in Salt Lake City, Utah. William Cameron remained in Anson County.
I am very familiar with the genealogy of James Madison due to the fact that I lived in Arizona for a number of years, and met many of our relatives, and of course became familar with their family history and how it related to my direct lineage.
I hope this information is useful in your research.
Sincerely,
William H. Flake II
