I've come to the reluctant conclusion that my Charity, b.1760, Anson co. NC, is probably not related to the Flake maternal line. I created the Alice Powell Tree on Ancestry, and still keep it there just in case. But there are a couple of junctions in it that are probably wrong. Also, it seems somewhat possible that her U5b2 haplotype may have a Scottish or Scots-Irish origin. It may even go all the way back to Doggerland, the stone age Atlantis that disappeared under the sea thousands of years ago when the glaciers melted.
