Flake family origins (cavaliers)

This is the first time I've found a reference that suggests the Flakes came from the original settlements in Virginia.

"To The Last Frontier", Autobiography of Lucy Hanna White Flake, compiled by: Roberta Flake Clayton.

p. 17 "William Jordan Flake was the son of James Madison and Agnes Haley Love Flake. According to family tradition, his ancestors came from England with the cavaliers in their first settlement of Virginia."
