Peter - you probably have all the census sorted out by now but I have just been looking at this and it seems to me that Elijah who was a cooper is listed as Roger "Flandraw"on the 1860 census and in 1880 as Elgin "Flandree". The wife and children and his occupation seem to confirm that it is all "Elijah" Flandreau.
